Admissions

Epiphany's current enrollment is 520 students. Through a survey, over 85% of our families indicated that the school reflects its commitment to its religious purpose, and that it encourages Catholic values. The school fosters a spirit of Christian service and emphasizes mutual respect. When applying to the school, students are asked to complete a standardized entrance examination based on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills. Examination results are used as part of a larger acceptance rubric, which includes parishioner status, sibling status, school legacy, previous teacher recommendations, standardized test results from their previous schools, report card review, attendance records, teacher observation, and interview results. Financial status is not a condition for admission. The School of the Epiphany complies with Archdiocesan nondiscrimination policy concerning application and acceptance. Epiphany has an average class size of 28 (counting full time classroom teachers) or 17 (counting full time teachers and full time classroom aides). Each kindergarten classroom is limited to no more than 32 students with one full time teacher and one full time aide in the classroom at all times.

When applying to the school, students are asked to complete a teacher-generated entrance examination. The examination results are used as one part of a larger acceptance rubric, which includes parishioner status, sibling status, school legacy, previous teacher recommendations, ITBS test results from their previous schools, report card reviews (academic and citizenship),attendance records, teacher observation, and interview results. Each applicant is then compared to our standard student profile to see if the applicant is a good match to the school community. Financial status is not a condition for admission. The School of the Epiphany complies with Archdiocesan non-discrimination policy concerning application and acceptance.
